Putting on an edurance race only happens with the dedication of volunteers, and Cowbell Challenge is no exception. We're looking for some early risers to help check in racers and organize parking. We'll provide the coffee and an awesome t-shirt, and you'll be done by 10 am.
Not so early-risers are needed too. Course monitors and folks to be keep the water stations well-stocked. It gets pretty hot on the trails in June, and hydration is essential, so our course monitors and water volunteers are heros for a day!
And we're always looking for a few key folks who share our commitment to the community and to mountain biking. Lots of advance planning and organizing opportunities for those looking to make a difference!
Contact us today at organizers@cowbellchallenge.org. Tell us your interest area, and we'll get back to you in flash!
We're constantly adding new sponsors, getting updates on participants and events surrounding the Cowbell Challenge. Check back often!

The Cowbell Challenge has always been something special. It's more than just top-notch competition on the toughest course in Metrolina.... It's giving back to local, regional and national communities by supporting programs, research and treatment efforts for cancer, head and spinal injury, juvenile diabetes and other catastrophic illnesses. And, It's giving back to the mountain biking community by supporting great organizations that provide trail-building and maintenance, education and safety awareness programs.
In 2007, the efforts of volunteers, racers and sponsors allowed us to donate more than $4,000 to Lance Armstrong Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Dirt Divas, the Tarheel Trailblazers, and the US National Whitewater Center. Thanks to everyone for an absolutely fantastic year! You've set the bar high for 2008 .... do we hear $6,000? Set up a fundraising page, bug your family, coworkers, friends and neighbors. Jump on your bike and ride for those who need you.
